The 'conflict' and my job ended at about the same time, took up
carpentry to keep busy and food on the table, stayed in that field for the next 30 years, mostly self-employed, sometimes payrolled with a builder, specializing in finish and cabinetry.
Took a position with a commercial contractor as project manager and estimator till I took early retirement in 2007.
Now I spend my time with my bride of 44 years. We have 2 daughters, one of whom is developmentally challenged, thus my involvement as an aquatics coach with Special Olympics.
My other interests are serious bicycling, salt water fly-fishing, and building and flying kites. By Larry Zaleski at 14 Aug 2008 - 9:00pm | Larry Zaleski's profile

Dan OrcuttClass Of...1979 Years Attended76-79 About MeI'm sooooo excited to post an update about myself after all these beers. Pete is fixing ATM machines and I'm pulling out the occasional $20 at the bowling alley...if my SSI check ever gets here. As you may know I'm still living at the YMCA downtown. But I spend most of my time at the alleys. I love to bowl. Sometimes Brother Joe comes by for ham salad, I still make the BEST! I found a picture of him and the libriarian here is helping me post(?) it. She is nice, I can only use the computer that she can see the screen of though. Newspapers are FREE! Consider this the start of a revival of the Class of 1979 a bunch of sarcastic basturds, some of which are still very much alive. R.I.P. to D.M., C.T., W.W., G.M.,...who else? Big O or not. School NotesSince Graduation...I like to bowl and make ham salad. Newspapers are free at the Libriary. By Big O at 29 Jul 2008 - 8:46pm | Big O's profile

Pete RysClass Of...1979 Years Attended1976-1979 About MeSchool NotesFour GREAT years of life at Kanty. My only regret is that I cant take my boys to watch any games there anymore. Since Graduation...Since graduating from Clarion University with a degree in Accounting, I spent the next six years in the accounting world in Pittsburgh. Got VERY bored being behind a desk so I switched careers and got into sales/pr. One thing that was always kind of a thorn in my side was the fact that I always busted my butt to pad the pockets for those I worked for. For the past two years I fullfilled a life long dream of being in business for myself. I own and operate an ATM business in NW PA. I buy the machines, and service them myself. It has been a real dream come true, I am able to have a nice income, but perhaps even more important, I get to spend a ton of time with my family since my avg work day is only about 2-3 hours long!!! If any of you guys out there ever want to know more I would love to share this with you. I could show you how to make some extra bucks on the side to help out with the mtg, family vacation, or get the kids through college, or if you want, I can show you how to replace your current income.
Any old friends, please just give me a call so we can get caught up on some AWESOME memories...home number is 814-866-0055, cell is 814-881-8206. By Pete Rys at 14 Oct 2006 - 11:49am | Pete Rys's profile
Robert HallClass Of...1982 Years Attended1978 - 1980 About MeI'm so glad I stumbled on to this site!! I had never heard of Kanty Prep until midway through my 8th grade year. I was all set to go to Cathedral Prep, but my parents made me go to all of the Open Houses. I'm glad they did, because I fell in love with what Kanty had, and ended up changing my mind about where to go. Unfortunately, the school closed at the end of my sophomore year. Butthe memories from nearly 30 years ago are so vivid. I plan to visit this site a lot. Anyone wishing to send an e-mail: School NotesI have so many memories of my days at Kanty. I hope that people who were there during my time will also hop on board and share. I think back to my long bus rides from the Frontier Park area (with the St. Ben's girls, crazy Pete Rys - back seat center), the school spirit of everyone on the stage at basketball games (John Sosinski, "Ooooo OOOOOOOOOO Ohhhhhh!" - Classic!), that sad night during the 1979 playoffs, somebody knocking on the pew in the chapel to signal that it was time to kneel and recite the closing prayer...Wow, this will be fun. Since Graduation...After Kanty closed I spent my last two years of high school at Cathedral Prep. I went to Gannon University and since 1986 I have been a high school French teacher: From 1986 - 1996 at Villa Maria Academy; from 1996 to present at Fairview High School. Yep, I've lived in the Erie area my whole life!
Denise and I married in June, 1991. Our daughter Courtney was born in August, 1992 and our son Brandon in October, 1994. We have been living in Girard since our wedding day. Yes, we do have an in home Fairview vs. Girard rivalry. By Robert Hall at 12 Apr 2008 - 2:18pm | Robert Hall's profile
