About Me

Prior to Kanty, I attended 7th & 8th grade at St Xavier Academy in Latrobe PA. Like Kanty, this was also a boarding school. However, unlike Kanty, there were girls. And so, I met my future wife Judy who was one year behind me. My prior experience at St X's probably lessened the shock of entering Kanty. Plus, I also had the company of my twin brother Bob. Kanty left an indelible impression on all of us...some good, some bad. We struggled, we survived and most of us are better because of Kanty. The experience and camaraderie will be remembered our entire lives. As my classmate Norb Orlowski once said, "Where else could you play in the band and also be on the football team?" Who can forget Prof John Kolasa writing in the diary "oooh-keey, noo town today!" Coming back to school after Christmas vacation was rough. Bleak, dreary and cold...typical Erie. Some scenes from Kevin Bacon's movie "Sleepers" were very reminiscent of Kanty in the wintertime.

School Notes

Since Graduation...

I graduated from St Vincent College in Latrobe PA with a B.S. in Acctg and from Indiana Univ of PA with a Master's in Criminology. Worked in Public Acctg and with Westinghouse, then 28 years as a Special Agent with the FBI. Retired in 2000. Now live in Edinboro with wife Judy (married 42 years). Never thought I'd see Erie again after I graduated from Kanty. But I was stationed in NYC in 1985 when the Bureau offered me Erie. Needless to say, I jumped on the offer. My distinct memory of Erie was waking up in the Kanty dorm with a foot of snow on the inside windowsill. Since retirement, I read a book a week, try to stay out of Judy's way, do some volunteer tax work, and also with the Big Brother's program. Visit with our 4 children and 5 grandchildren and occasionally with brother Bob in Gainesville Fla. Life is good!
